National Parks: For just $10, an America the Beautiful pass provides lifetime free admission to national parks for U.S. citizens age 62 and older. In addition to entrance fees, these passes can provide up to a 50% discount on various amenity fees for services like camping and boating.
Restaurants: Gone are the days of the “Early Bird Special” as your only opportunity to save money at a restaurant. Many now offer discounts such as Denny’s who offers AARP members a 20% discount on their total bill from 4 to 10 p.m. Also, Applebee’s has a free Golden Apple Card offering seniors a 10% discount and IHOP offers 10% discounts for people ages 55 and up.
Fitness: Many local churches, community centers, and fitness clubs offer deals for Seniors, so be sure to check those in your community. Once you are on Medicare, be sure to check out Silver Sneakers for free gym memberships.
Shopping: With the extra time you’ll have after you retire, you might want to do more shopping. Stores such as Kohls, Clarks, Rockport Outlet as well as Tanger Outlets offer a variety of discounts ranging from percentages off and coupon books.
Airlines: With more time to travel, discounted airline rates are a big perk. Alaska Airlines offer 10% off, American Airlines, Southwest, United and British Airways also provide a variety of discount options.
